SINEDRIVER®
This is our experimental power converter that is controllable by an external signal. This converter can adjust the power of the thermal load by changing the amplitude of the alternating supply current without changing the other parameters of the supply current. The frequency and sine wave remains, so it is an AC/AC converter.
Within the WATTrouter ecosystem, one of these inverters can replace one SSR up to 10A.
Parameters and Properties
- Maximum power consumption of the connected appliance 2kW (9A).
- Does not change the voltage frequency, it remains 50Hz.
- Does not change the voltage waveform, it remains sinusoidal.
- Smoothly changes voltage amplitude in one percent steps.
- Control using PWM or 0-10V signal.
- Reacts very quickly to power change requests, response within 10ms.
- It does not create flicker like any proportional regulation using SSRs and zero-switched triacs.
- High frequency and radio interference is low enough.
- Protection against overload and short circuit of the appliance.
- Protection against load disconnection (e.g. by thermostat).
- Active temperature-controlled cooling, the fan only switches on when a certain temperature is exceeded.
- In standby, it disconnects the power part including EMI filters, i.e. reduces idle consumption to a minimum.
- In the steady state, with active regulation, the current to/from the network is always zero (if the PV inverter output is also sinusoidal).
This inverter, together with our wattrouter, is able to reduce the excess energy to the network to an absolute minimum, typically several tens of Wh per day (if the appliance connected to the inverter is still active and the power plant's output does not exceed its power input).
